Flutes: 3 Down cut endmills shear in a downward direction causing the uppermost layer of the material to be pressed down against the material just below it. This motion leaves a perfectly clean top surface edge. A concentration of wood chips in the work path will occur. Hose away excess wood chips to prevent bit breakage. Pros: Prevents top surface edge chipping and tear-away. Cons: Less than optimal chip removal when dadoing or plunging. (Choose an up cut spiral bit for standard more efficient milling.) For use in CNC milling and carving machines.

Over many years I have used many router bits.

This bit is one of the well made that I have used and it cuts really well. I can see a lot of uses for this particular bit because of down cut and extra long shank. I look forward to its long life and many uses I can have. It is a nice extra touch to have its own protective case, although odd that it was only delivered in a small zipper plastic bag.

For the price this bit is listed for, seller might want to include a flyer with all the positives about this bit and package slightly differently to make it more appealing and stand out from other brands.
