This is a good-quality router bit. It comes in a clearly labeled plastic protective tube. These tubes are pretty standard for most router bits, but each case is the same dimensions so it fits nicely into my bit storage system. I have used multiple router bits and each continues to work very well and so far each has had a nice service life. The cut quality of the bits is consistent and I have been very happy with the results.
I use the bits on my CNC router and I use the Speeds and Feeds database to set up my tool paths for each of the bits. This tool database, plus the clear labeling of the storage container are the real winners for me when it comes to SPE tools. This removes the guessing and makes sure you are using the bit exactly as it is intended to be used. This minimizes the breaking of bits and the longevity (life) of the bits. For me, it just keeps it easy, and that's really nice.
I have used this compression bit for cutting plywood that has nice finished sides on both top and bottom. When I don't have a compression bit, I would use a downcut to start and an upcut to finish the cut-through. This was a pain in the rear and this compression bit addresses that pain very nicely. I'm sure there are many other benefits of using a compression bit and I look forward to exploring them now with this bit in my collection.
I am very happy with this bit.
