1/2" 2 Piece Assembled Flush Trim Template 1/2" Shank Router Bit

These unique flush trim bits have a shank diameter, bearing diameter and cutting diameter all of the same size. This allows you to get into smaller corners without needing to reduce the shank size. There is additional clearance between the bearing and the shank to avoid friction from the shank against your workpiece.Caution: This bit is constructed as 2 steel body parts that screw together at the bearing location. This center location is considerably weaker than the rest of the bit and presents a weak point. Care should be taken not to overload the bit. Preliminary routing should be performed with a standard template flush trim bit and only use this bit when necessary to get deeper into a smaller radius corner.Flush trim template router bits work in your router table or handheld router. Secure your template to the top face of the work for handheld operations, or to the bottom face of the work when using a router table. It's helpful to have at least a couple of flush trim bits in different sizes in your router bit collection. 1/4" and 1/2" diameters make a good combination.
